The chip shop by the Wiston old Horseshoe pub used to be a cracking chip shop back in then in the 1970s- Fiday night six pints of brown bitter & a gang of us would walk from Cases pub for prwn curry & chips & eat them on the way back....
 
My late father local 0pposite Derby street where I partly grew up - the Seel Arms pub - still open a Tetley Walker house thrived with Huyton BICC had a massive workforce back then - It used to have a off-licence & the money we got on hunted down empty beer bottles 3d per bottle

I had to not quite do a runner but I made my self scarce pdq after getting filthy looks and muttering upsetting the regulars by winning the quiz And the cash jackpot accumulator :lol:

That happened to me and a mate at the Jolly Miller once. You have to be careful if you nip in for a pint and end up winning the jackpot!
