Re that photo of Everton Road 1975–2023, further along on the left handside going into town was The Everton Red Triangle boxing club situated upstairs with a drinking club downstairs, ran by Joe Curran, it lasted a good few years starting possibly in the 1980’s and finishing in around 2010. It was very popular on Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights and some functions on a Sunday afternoon, with the boxing club open most week nights and producing quite a few good quality boxers including Colin Dunne who won a version of the World Lightweight Championship and Noel Quarless who fought for the British Heavyweight title.
