I found this place last time I was in Liverpool, obviously I’d heard about it previously but had never known where it was.….Ma Egerton’s pub. Mary Egerton was born in Dublin but moved to Liverpool in 1890s. Originally running the American Bar on Lime St then taking over The Eagle in Pudsey St behind the Empire Theatre. Her bar became the favourite haunt of performers and she became friends with the likes of Laurel and Hardy and Judy Garland;
