This is where I'm from, this is from the 50s few yrs earlier grandad got work on the outskirts of London originally from Walton area, the rest still remain southside of Liverpool but haven't strayed too far like grandad did.

It was going to cost too much to fix up mate, it was literally rotting away, between the salt air and the acidic smoke from the many steam trains that ran underneath parts of it

…..Cabbage Hall Inn. I remember my own game being called off on the day of the ‘Graham Sharp goal’ Derby and dashing to this place to ask ‘any spares’. Unfortunately I didn’t get one so spent the afternoon in my mates house who lived local monitoring the score. No internet or soccer streams in those days and the pubs shut in the afternoon but we made up for it that night
