Old Photos Of Where You Live

You can see the timber structure of the roller coaster. The one ride my dad could afford for me and him to ride.
Tears in my eyes now thinking about it. Number 11 or 12 bus from Tranmere absolutely chocker on a sunny Sunday afternoon.
My Girlfriend & I walked for Secombe to New Brighton as the new Brighton Ferry was closed as it had silted up at the landing bay at the end of the pier, they tried to dredge it 3 times to no avail so it closed - end of an era of a day out in the old New Brighton ......

I returned there a while ago - disgusting to see metal sign pates naming the attractions they had closed - open air baths etc etc .....

Got me going now Joey.
One of the most marvellous sights was to see the Liverpool to New Brighton ferry discharging all the Liverpudlians onto the floating jetty on a busy sunny day in the school holidays.
I try and get there when I come back to the Wirral but the planners just can't seem to get it right when revitalising the resort. A shame really.

It now a concrete jungle of roads .......on the New Brighton seafront .....the small park at the end was there the pitch & putt had gone .....

I went in my teens with my mates & paid to go into the battlements' fort on the beach - they were like Dungeons - in those days if you went for a swim on New brighton beach you just went through the motions lol
You're talking about Fort Perch Rock.
I know we're straying a bit off topic but me going in there as a ten year old kid exposed me to something that left me spellbound and a moment in time that's stayed with me ever since.
In short, there was a section of the Fort that contained images of the Holocaust and as graphic as you could imagine. Looking back there's no way whatsoever that someone so young old be allowed to see such images.
