I can assure we wont be signing Giroud.

it would be great but unlikely...Wenger looking over his shoulder at us, imagine the fume if he scored 20 and we pipped them for a CL spot...think he may be political about this one and keep or abroad...hope I'm wrong though

Thing is mate. None of the top six are looking over their shoulders at us at all, all they are really focused on is finishing top four.

Weirdly means we have an advantage in we can buy those players they wouldn't sell to 'rivals'

Purely paper talk this as we are spending money and the media know we'll be in for 1-2 forwards with Rom gone so 2+2=5. I would love Giroud though I've said for a while he's the perfect Koeman centre forward albeit he doesn't press the defence much.

I think alot of fans would feel more reassured if we just signed a quality forward as atm the signings are good but you feel without Rom we would be a much weaker side.

If you assume (a big assumption) that he wants forwards in the model of the ones he had at Southampton, Giroud would fit the Pelle model, but a bit of an upgrade. You'd then have Sandro as the Rodriguez equivalent who can play anywhere across the front three positions, and you'd still need a fast, hard-working striker who could press as the Shane Long equivalent

Think this would be absolutely the right move to replace Lukaku as we won't find a striker who can get 25 league goals, but getting ourselves 3 strikers who can get double figures and give us greater tactical variation should ultimately make us stronger. Rom, for all of his obvious goalscoring qualities, has big weaknesses that were issues for us in some games. There was no plan B

If we really are in for Giroud, I would like to think that would rule out a move for Rooney as you wouldn't have thought two 30+ strikers who don't press the ball would be a great idea

He would be good for a few seasons. But I don't see us matching his wages and he wants London. If Rom goes we will be looking at goals from around the pitch, two more strikers after Sandro.

All this from a (made up) story in the Sun, the paper we loathe? Come on guys. Wenger is no idiot, he will keep Giroud. Does everyone seem to think a club like Arsenal need only one striker now? The other options are constantly injured. Giroud is not for sale.
