I'd love to see us get Giroud, quality CF, but I do have concerns about lack of pace in first 11.

I know pace isn't everything, but I do fear when we need to stretch teams/ counter attack, how or whom will allow us to get up the pitch quickly?

Balde of lazio, what a signing that would have been. But I share your sentiment, it's nice to have nailed the vast majority of our transfer targets.

oh yeah, forgot about him. Who would he have been instead of? His fee was half of siggurdsson so doubt it'd have been him, we seemed to be after sandro from day 1, same goes to klaassen and although giroud is the same sort of figure, he's the polar opposite of a player. Rooney was free and the oposite end of his career compared to balde so there's no real comparison there either.

Give it a couple of years and hopefully players of balde's reputation will seriously consider us, players like siggurdsson and giroud are perfect to get us to that level first, imo.

If it's true that Giroud wants to wait until the first few games of the season to see how often he's played then we should move on to other targets as it's obvious he doesn't want to leave. Wenger will just play him more often the first few games if he wants to keep him as an option, which he's stated he does.

Shame, but I think we need to go for other options otherwise we'd going to end up with too little time to get anyone decent in.
