Transfer Rumour Olivier Giroud

I agree
Siggy seems to work best with a target man to aim at and Sandro would hopefully benefit from the knockdown
I could see Giroud getting 25+ goals/assists in a season.
A front four of

Sandro Rooney. Siggy

Giroud

That would supply goals.
With Gana and Morgan nailed on to start , its were Klassen and Davies fits in that hard to figure.
Rotation I suppose but I don't think he bought Klassen to be a squad player rather than first 11
Interesting times ahead

Honestly can't see both gana and sniderlin starting many games together this season. Unless we are playing defensively there really is no need to play two dcm. Exspect to see them start in away matches against top teams but not in the majority of matches.

Sadly at the age of 24, as far as Zat is concerned thats it, his career is over.

Will be interesting because it's a fair point but

1)they're two of our better players, tough to drop them...

2) who would play instead? Davies could replace one and be a bit more attacking but Barry, McCarthy and Besic are equally defensive and just worse players... and Klaassen probably can't play in a two.

Rooney should be on the bench. Klaassen would be in his position.
For the best starting 11 anyway.

Davies and Gana can both play in a 2, they did near the end of last season, either could play with Klaassen or even Iceland.

I said Davies was the only potential replacement, so I agree with your point.

Said another way, our only combo of 2 include two of Snides, Gana and Davies... our other 3 midfielders are just worse versions of those 3 and i doubt Iceland/Klaassen can play in a 2.

So if you want to play more aggressive than Gana Snides it's Gana Davies or Snides Davies. Not much choice.

Yeah, I think Gana and Snides is perfect for defensive games, but otherwise neither is good enough as an attacking midfielder. I love Ganas energy, but hes not going to score many goals from the looks of it. Klaassen will, but the second player in the middle and pushed up should likely be Rooney or Davies in games where the team we are playing is defensive.

I defo think Iceland and Klaassen could play in a 2, I mean like :

Morgan
Klaassen - Iceland
Still thinking we will favour the 4-2-3-1, for now it would look like :

Pickford
Kenny - Williams - Keane - Baines
Gana - Morgan
Rooney - Klaassen - Lookman
Sandro

Think that's the lineup. Iceland in for Lookman, Giroud in for Sandro. But we should see a lot of Sandro in for Rooney and/or Giroud, Lookman in for Iceland (or push Iceland somewhere else), Davies in for Gana or Morgan.

Would sure be nice to see an upgrade for Williams and/or another pacey winger to play out wide right. Damari Gray can play all over the front attacking midfield positions, so that's hopefully an option.

Feel like selling Niasse, McCarthy, Barkely could help make those moves with true quality a reality.

With that lineup I'm just thinking not one Bobby signing , and 9 Koeman signings.
Quick change in a year.
Also assuming ( which I know is dangerous ) with that line up and adding Siggy and a CF say Giroud , if ROSS had a change of heart and stayed , where would he fit in or would he.
Personally I always though he would develop into the attacking player in a DCM 2 if that makes sense.
Carrying the ball from our box to the opponents half using his strength and pace
Problem is his tackling skillls never evolved and his decision making didn't improve.
I always thought there was a hell of a player in there somewhere

Bingo! If Ross ever learned how to make and tackle, he's an amazing holding middy. But he won't, which is why a Koeman and everyone else will push him higher towards goal.

Back to topic, getting someone in sooner is really important. This much turnover makes it difficult to have a coherent squad. Unfortunately our schedule isn't really helpful in that regard.
