On This Day;

For a bit of help, this was the where and when the Japanese signed the surrender document and officially (nearly) brought about the end of the second world war.

(I say nearly because a handful or hard living Japanese officer type ninja maniacs continued hiding out in the jungle for another 25 years disbelieving any surrender was possible) [what a mouthful that was!]

Should have put this up yesterday;
October 1; On this day in 1966 I saw my first live Football league match, Aldershot 4 Rochdale 0 in the old Div 4.
Since then - 203 teams ( league, non league, European and international) on 140 grounds.
Mrs Whittle is a very understanding woman.😊

…terrific you appear to have kept records. I know I must have gone to Selhurst in early 60’s, I’d guess 62/63 because I remember Bill Glazier was in goal. No idea of my first Goodison visit but I’m sure it’d been before that, maybe ‘61.

Stayed in Thornton Heath when we won the Cup in ‘66. Both my parents went and they took my Uncle rather than me which I never understood. First Wembley visit was ‘68 when we lost to Baggies.
