Ornaments

Ornament to me is synonymous with pointless.

Me and Mrs Chrismpw were given an ornament from a work colleague as a wedding "gift". As far as I'm concerned, such a gift is a trinket to get somebody, who doesn't really know you, off the social obligation to be nice and socially acceptable by friends.

The sculpture is some resin based, slender, entwined modern art sculpture thing representing two people dancing. Neither of us dance, neither of us appreciate such tat. It's been by the downstairs bog in my splash zone for the last 5/6 years and today I reckoned it was worth photographing to illustrate this post. couldn't t find it. Its so valued by both of us that some time ago Mrs Chrismpw consigned it to a cupboard she can't remember and I hadn't even noticed.

I have no idea. Probably IKEA. People seem to love that stuff for no apparently logical reason. Their meatballs, however, I would kill for.

An original Mesoamerican artefact made of purest obsidian, originating from the Castillo de Kukulcán, Chichén Itzá.
Dated circa 2013 from hawkers adjacent to the taco joint that gave me the worst squirts I’ve ever experienced.

I think it's easy to knock ornaments. But they're fairly harmless really, as are most people who collect them

The real dangers are the 'live, laugh, love' sorts. Chucking signs, pictures and indeed ornaments around the home consciously screams sinister joyless hellhole probably occupied by a sociopath.
