Oscar Pistorius trial discussion

First and foremost, the event in itself was a tragedy.

There are a number of things to consider when discussing oscars actions if he's telling the truth:

south africa is one of the most violent nations in the world-
it's well documented that gangs have targeted wealthy home owners in the past, once they've gained entry they have been known to torture, rape, mutilate and then murder the inhabitants in order to gain safe access codes, car keys and other hidden valuables.

A world famous, national sporting icon with a very large personal fortune, particularly one with a well documented physical impairment could be viewed as a very viable target (good chance of it being very lucrative, less chance of him being able to fight back in the same way an able bodied person would)

what's to say that he either wasn't paying attention to his surroundings (not noticing her not being in bed) or feared that a potential burglar had grabbed her? fear and adrenaline lead to actions that ordinary, rational persons would not consider

all in all, i think it's understandable that someone in his position would be afraid, even if it could have been due to paranoia in that position,

i personally love my partner, but i won't deny theres been times when we've rowed violently, i'm not proud of it but in the heat of the moment things happen (for the record i've always been on the receiving end), arguements and jealousy occur at times in relationships, it's normal

also the brother and lawyers appearance looks shady at first but when you think about it, it's actually understandable. If something happens which results in a shock or a fright then you pretty much always contact the people your closest too, is it too far fetched to think that maybe his brother realised the seriousness of the situation and called the lawyer?

people seem to forget that the ambulance crew stated that they found pistorious at the scene trying to revive her, not something people do when they want someone dead

the cricket bat was also apparently used to break the bathroom door down once he realised what had happened

to balance the arguement out, i agree there are some things that undeniably make it look bad for pistorious,

the documented rows,
potential jealousy over her potential infidelity
his apparent anger issues

i'd like to think that he's innocent but until the evidence has been viewed im personally inclined to look at both sides rather than taking the word of sensationalist media reporting

Strange that he forgot his I-phone 4 digit password like, must have been the shock - lol

He absolutely did it.

Not even a question about it. No one would just shoot without at least saying 'reeeeva?' First. I would have found it more plausible if he had shot at a figure standing up in the bedroom that he saw and it turned out to be her because in South Africa it's so bad that you have to just shoot on site. But the fact the door was shut and he didn't even question who it was...

I think he's done it and he has anger issues as displayed in the past, and I believe his remorse and horror at what he has done is genuine.

This for me is the most damning part of the whole thing. You would call out first to see if you recognised the voice and then decide what to do. Not just go in, see a locked door and start blasting.

Not been following the case, did he even check for his girlfriend before shooting, no way would I shoot, when it could be someone you know and love. Madness

It seems as though he didn't check at all. He claims he thought she was in bed and so that whoever was in the bathroom was an intruder. Surely the first thing you would do is 100% make sure she was in the bed. Then if not, call out when you get to the door. I understand the arguments about being paranoid/skittish but I think in that situation my first thought would be making sure my girlfriend was ok/safe.

She had bruises on her back, there's blood on the cricket bat and unexplained blood on the bedroom wall. His story about when he was wearing / not wearing his legs has already been proven to be lies and like you say there who wouldn't ask who was in there before opening fire? His story is a pack of lies and I hope he rots in hell
