Credit to them for acknowledging they need to up the quality to have a chance. Signing someone like Lingard for what they did is either stupid or brilliant, but they’re having a go unlike some others like Norwich who can never stick because they don’t spend.

Norwich don’t spend because when they do, they end up with Josh Sargent, Giannoulis and even further back van Wolfswinkel.

Forest seem to have got it right, although the media live in seeming to think they’ll be far away from relegation, doesn’t know the expectations new clubs face.

In all fairness a lot of promoted clubs have done good business and then performed well in at least their first season of late so I can see why the media are doing what they are doing.

Personally I hope they go the way of that Fulham team who spent £100m and were atrocious purely because it’s quite funny

Who is the last promoted club that was comfortably safe with with some breathing room to spare? Wolves?

Probably have to be Sheffield United, although they did go down the season after, they spent most of the season in a European Fight.

Edit, as been highlighted, Brentford and Leeds too.

Good mates with a forest ST and he says they lost half their team in the summer so not as mad as it looks

Barca are seemingly just hoping they can get a sale with part of that price just going directly to De Jong. Seems like some shady accounting driven tactics where they then get an inflated sale price that helps their ffp or something. Idk enough about it but it’s ridiculous they’re allowed to just not pay the man.
