Ashley Cole has had the last year of his contract with Roma terminated. The 34-year-old, who signed a two-year deal in Italy last summer following the expiration of his Chelsea contract, made only 11 Serie A appearances last season and has hardly featured in coach Rudi García’s pre-season preparations.

On Friday, Cole, who made 107 England appearances, was not included in the 26-man sqaud to be presented to fans at the Stadio Olimpico before the match against the Europa league winners Sevilla, and the Italian club confirmed to the Guardian that they had agreed to terminate his contract one year early.

Ignore the Krychowiak rumour, it's another Benzema red herring.

It seems Michel Aulas is trying to be mischeivious with Levy, he's done an interview with RTL in France

Speaking to RTL, Lyon President Jean Michel Aulas has announced that he has received another offer from a different English club for Cameroonian striker Clinton N’Jie, which has thrown his potential move to Tottenham Hotspur into uncertainty.

Aulas had the following to say:

“Clinton N’Jie’s departure is not complete. We have received an offer from another big English club which is complicating things.”

N’Jie had reached a 5 year contract agreement with Tottenham and a fee worth €17m had previously been agreed.

Sounds like he's trying to squeeze more money out of the tightest wad in football......Bonne chance with that one mate.

It's probably BS and Lyon are doing a nice bit of poop stirring. But I can see spurs/Levy coughing up whatever extra Aulas wants now.

There is no way they'll want to lose yet another player after he's done a medical. And definitely not to us. Levy still wants the cab fare he loaned to Petit 18yrs ago paid back.

I think he had 4 appearances, scoring one goal (obviously the game I saw). Totally agree with you, the money being spent on kids with no experience is crazy. Whatever happened to YTS and young players cleaning the senior pro's boots etc!
