Other Clubs Summer Transfer Speculation

Premier League champions Chelsea are in talks to sign midfielder Alex Song, 27, who was on loan at West Ham last season. Barcelona value the former Arsenal man at £5m. (Telegraph)

Barca are believed to have valued Song at around £5million, but the Hammers have suggested that they sign the midfielder for free and take on his entire £70,000-a-week wages.

Song still has two years to run on his Barca contract and the Spanish club face the prospect of paying a share of his current salary for that period if no club is willing to match it.

Chelsea and Manchester City have also shown interest in Song due to his status as a home-grown player, but it is unclear whether or not the two clubs are willing to pay a fee.

Sid Lowe is usually pretty accurate with his info.

Manchester United have responded to Real Madrid’s bid for David de Gea by telling the Spanish club they want to sign Sergio Ramos, the Guardian understands.

The 29-year-old central defender, who has 128 caps for Spain, has an official buyout clause of €180m (£128m) but his contract at the Bernabéu expires in July 2017 and United are believed to think they have a chance of signing Ramos without having to meet that figure.

Real Madrid have already had a n initial bid for De Gea turned down, believed to be in the region of €18m. Representatives then travelled to the UK for a meeting at which they requested United set a price for the goalkeeper. Madrid remain convinced they will eventually sign De Gea, who has one year left on his contract and wants to return to Spain, and anticipated a meeting that would be a formality. Instead they met a counter-bid: you want De Gea, we want Ramos.

Inter have confirmed the signing of Kongdogbia from Monaco.

Quite interested in the formation Inter will be going for next season, especially the midfield/attack. If they sign Imbula (as expected according to French press) then I'd guess a 4-3-2-1 would be in order:

---------------Handanovic---------------
D'Ambrosio--Murillo--Miranda--Santon
-----Imbula--Kovacic--Kondogbia
--------Hernanes------Shaqiri-----------
-----------------Icardi---------------------

That's a strong XI for a Serie A side, CL bound on paper some might say.

Kovacic will probably be off so they will need to replace him but that's a powerful midfield now with Imbula and Kondogbia.

I'm hoping you're badly wrong mate. I'm hoping they find a team stupid enough to buy Guarin and the rest of their deadwood.
