Jose Fonte, Saints best defender,who made the others look good has done an interview about being flattered by links with Sporting Lisbon and how he would only consider leaving them for a top 4 premier league club or one playing in the champions league.

If I was a Saints fan,I would actually start to poop my pants,he is easily their best defender.

Very good shot stopper,one of those new type keepers that comes flying out. His decision making is good,reflexes are good but his lack of height will stop him from being absolute top tier but he's an upgrade on Howard,easily. He's too good to be a no 2 for anyone but Chelsea/Barca/Bayern.

Aston Villa captain Fabian Delph will complete his £8million move to Manchester City in the next 24 hours.

City are understood to have activated the release clause in the England midfielder’s contract and personal terms have been agreed.

Delph, 25, did not travel with the Villa squad to their pre-season training camp in Portugal and will become Manuel Pellegrini’s first signing of the summer.
 

How would you rate him compared to the other 1st choice other keepers in the prem?

Courtois,Cech and De Gea better by some distance?

That would be a historical figure. The biggest fee paid for polish player is 7,5M euro which RS paid Feyenoord for Dudek.

Not like a certain other player looking to move to City is it ;)

Tbf have seen a couple of people quote his statement when he signed a new contract in Jan last year "I am a loyal person and committing my future will hopefully show everybody what type of guy I am."

But since he could have left on a free this summer and signing that contract, even one with a lowish buyout clause, has meant that Villa get 8m for him that counts as loyalty in today's football world, especially as he probably misses out on a nice signing bonus.
