Jose Mourinho has cast doubt over Kevin De Bruyne’s ability to cope with being part of a Premier League title-chasing squad as the Belgian prepares to move to Manchester City for a fee that could break the British transfer record of £49m.
...
The Belgian has complained about his treatment at Chelsea but Mourinho rejects that he was the reason for his failure to play a key role at the club. “That is unfair because I wanted to keep him,” said the Portuguese. “And he told me it was not in his personality to be competing for a position in the team. He needed a team where he knows he can play every game. He needs to know that he is important.

“He did not want a team where he thinks am I playing or not? He needs that trust, he needs that quality. He needs that security. So I was not happy when he left. So yes it’s not fair.” Mourinho added: “He didn’t tell me he couldn’t handle the pressure. He told me he wanted to play every weekend. I told him this is Chelsea, you are very young, you have Eden Hazard, you have Mata, you have Willian, you have Schürrle, and I cannot promise you that.

“And the first game of the season against Hull City he played. For the second game against Manchester United, he played. The third game of the season was the Super Cup in Prague, I decided not to play him. For the fourth match, in the Premier League, he was on the bench. And he was not happy. He told me he was not happy. “He was not training very well and he was saying: ‘I can’t give you more. This is just my way.’

“So yes, I accept that if this his mentality and it’s his choice to go, it is better for Chelsea to make a good deal. Chelsea made a good deal and he was happy to go and I am happy because the kid is a good kid. And I am happy for him “Players have different circumstances. We sold him, made our money and it was fantastic because we bought him cheap and sold him for a fantastic price. And now Wolfsburg, if they make a fantastic deal, that is good for them.”

@BenDinnery: #SaintsFC need to quickly dip into the transfer market after Koeman revealed Gardos will be out for min. 6-months with a serious knee injury
@BenDinnery: #SaintsFC only have two experienced central DEFs fully fit currently

Rumours linking then with Van Dijk

OH HOW I FEEL FOR THEM

NOT LIKE WE'VE BEEN IN THAT POSITION SINCE THE 2 BALLBAGS LEFT.

@BenDinnery: According to his 1st 2 clubs Mbemba was born on 08/08/88 but DR Congo FA list his DOB as 30/11/91. Anderlecht go with 08/08/94
@BenDinnery: The player himself thinks he was born in 1990. So in short #NUFC have agreed to sign 20-26 year-old defender Chancel Mbemba from Anderlecht

Will be interesting to see how this one goes, usually for defenders we automatically write them off when they get to mid 30's. When you look at Mbemba he could be 38 in real life playing to a high standard were nobody will question him because they believe him to be 28 on his passport.
Im sure Distin has the opposite happen to him, he is quicker, stronger and fitter than half the mid 20's guys playing these days.

Distin could retire at 40 because he is fit enough, Mbemba could retire at 50 believing he is 40, imagine him at AC Milan were they believe they can extend careers by 2-5 years if i remember lol

What a complete utter crunt, some of that conversation sounds like a one to one with a manager. He's only making that comversation public to question his character in case he joins City. That's not mind games just being a despicable a-hole.

"He's a good kid"....whose personality I am going to publicly rip into. Imagine what he would say of a player he didn't like?
