Brewster is a gamble I guess

he is still very young and highly rated so over the next few years could become the next big thing

can’t really argue with the fee given we are paying almost 30 mil for a defender in the championship.

if anything it supports my previous posts that we shouldn’t sell Davies for anything less than 15 mil.

Sheffield United have obviously seen the level that Dom Solanke and Jordan Ibe have hit and fancied a liverpool wonderkid of their own! Enjoy the Championship lads

Don't get too angry about it lads. They've still got Harry Wilson to sell for £30 million yet.

Shaquiri for £15mill
Grujic for £10mill
Brewster for £25
Wilson £15 mill

Ffs.

Even Watford getting decent money for random South Americans and we cant give ours away.

£24m for Brewster?

Something well fishy with their outgoings.

It's 17m rising to 23m isn't it?

I don't think it's massively fishy, they just incentivise people to leave heavily via the player and agent. Standard would be 10% to each in these scenarios, wouldn't be surprised if they do 20%+ to each. Thats 10 million quid straight off the bat. So in the deal, they get a maximum of 7, with a further 6 that they may or may not get.

I've also heard that 15% sell on is also calcuated as part of the 17, which is another 3million to deduct. They will have to likely pay a sell on in the region of 20% to the original club they stole him off (so again another 4million). When you boil it down he goes for next to nothing, but some add ons. These tend to go ijn various areas of accounts, wage payments (as a deferred wage) and agents fees (which are miles ahead of most teams) but for an accounting purpose they log it at 23m and they look like net spend and accounts champions again.

The reality of how much they actually make is vastly different. I mean even if they did their usual 10% to agent and player to convince him to leave, with the other bits above, it's about 5 million down, and 6 million on the drip.

He's done no more in his career so far than Dowell who went for £2m.

Well yes and no.

I mean Dowell has had some good, and bad moments, but he's 22. People rated Brewster in the same bracket as Sancho/Callum Hudson Odoi. Dowell never really had that acclaim.

Also as I say 1 in 2 last year in the championship, Dowell has been very hit and miss at that level.
