Can someone explain the Anthony Knockaert situation to me as I must have missed it when it happened. Why did fulham pay 15 million for him just to send him back on loan to the championship?

Possibly an obligation fee upon promotion?

You never know, just like with United not wanting to sell us Romero, maybe we enquired and Arsenal told us no. Would make sense with them fully aware our outfield players are every bit as good as theirs... why give us a huge goalkeeper upgrade on the cheap.

They were obliged to buy him after X appearances last season; stupidly, even though he did nothing in the last half of the season, Parker kept playing him and triggered the clause. By the time they had to start stumping up cash they’d realised he was dump so shifted him off on loan to his natural habitat, The Championship.
