You got any good info on that mate? I was just putting 2 + 2 together.

Not really, just noise.

Like you, 2 plus 2. But one rumour, and it is only a rumour, is the cash they are getting from WBA for that player no one had heard of, is to service interest payments, on money owed to Gold and Sullivan.

(Even if its made up, its not that unbelievable)

Yes same for me.

I've seen it happen with Everton in the 90's. You spot the signs. They gambled heavily on Pellegrini and got nowhere, and money is now due back. Fans often seem to misunderstand the basic comprehension behind money in football- it doesn't go on forever. If you don't make Europe, or finish top half or other mile stones, it eventually runs out.

I don't know Gold/Sullivan in depth, but their money appears to be from owning essentially high street facing orgs. Alongside West Ham they have had a terrible time over the last 6 months. It probably means the wriggle room tmhey may have had 12 months ago isnt there.

Poor old Moyes really, worked a miracle to keep them up, and they've pulled the rug well and truly under him now. I can see them being 20th.

Have they not become respectable (ish) now though, I thought it was Ann Summers which sells on the high street?

No idea if I am honest mate. Sullivan owned the Sunday Sport back in the day, (how he met Brady), and Gold was behind loads of top shelf mags. Probably branched out these days cos its a different world. Property would be my guess.

I don't know either, but do know they own Ann Summers which must be a substantial part of their portfolio. Like Mike Ashley, anyone heavily reliant on retail is going to be struggling, as I suppose are those involved in commercial rents.

In the good times, I'm sure owners can extend lines of credit for football clubs based upon a nod and a wink of how well other assetts are doing, I sense those times are gone for the foreseable, so they need to sell to make up the shortfall.
