Other Clubs Summer Transfer Window 2020

They have spent about £550m in the past 4 seasons on players, that is even before Havertz, so including him, they are heading to the £640m mark in just 4 seasons. Incoming fees from sales in that time is about £400m.

It’s funny how everyone is falling for this talk of them being a selling club only recently. A one window ban has done their image wonders, which is funny aslo, as they got their ban for breaking rules.

No idea how FFP works half the time, but I don’t think anyone really cares these days knowing it’s easy to get away with manipulating it.

Havertz was 70 million not 90.

There ban was for signing young players not for overspending or breaching financial fair play.

Even using your own inaccurate figures only gives them a net spend of £50 million pound a season which is absolutely nothing for a top club especially given they make a lot than that from the Premier league and champions league TV deals.

It's strange people still group Chelsea in with the big spenders as they've been financially a very average club over the last few seasons. They've built up huge cash reserves that they're making use of this season.

I didn’t say you where banned for breaching FFP, I was just pointing out the irony of some having a more positive image of Chelsea, despite the fact the paltry 1 window ban came for rule breaking.

Of course your club is one of the big spenders, once you sign Havertz for £90 mill, it’ll be around £640m in 4 years. Plus it is likely a goalie will be arrving too. And for the net spend lovers, which of course is rightly important to clubs who need to sell to buy, but not for clubs like Chelsea who don’t, that’s still a decent net spend.

Just embrace it, rather than pretent your club is something it isn’t.

Pressure is on Frank to win the big titles next season.

My name may have confused you but I'm not a Chelsea fan... Though I'd rather see them win the league next season than any of the other teams likely to be involved.

Again Havertz 60 million potentially rising to 70 million not 90 as all sources are stating.

There's no pressure on Frank to win anything next season either, he'll be expected to mount a challenge but they've been very clear it's a 3 year plan and titles will be expected from 21/22. Their squad is still nowhere near as expensive as either Liverpools or City's so it isn't like he should be expected to win.

That said i'm not sure Frank will ever be a top manager but it's hard to judge how he sets up his team defensively given he was stuck with the worst Keeper in Premier league history last season.

The fact remains they're a very financially well run club who have had an excellent window (on paper one of the best I can remember from any club) but they certainly can't be grouped with the likes of City or United when it comes to attempting to buy the league over the last 10 years.

Eh?

I think Chelsea will be fine on ffp front. Nothing spent last summer, CL revenue coming in, tons of sellable young players if necessary
