I can't forgive these clubs funding that mob's European pushes. 110 effing million for a pretty good CM, they're going to buy the new Messi ffs

It's got to be infuriating to see Brighton doing so well mate

I don't even dislike them and it agitates my onions at how good they are at this, I can't imagine what it feels like if you're in a rivalry with them and you see them making this kind of bank

It's why when people say their model won't last long is complete balls.

They're up £300mill on sales alone. Still scouting with the best in the world for young players - Gonna bring in Kudus for less than £30mill, Dahoud on a free.

You can probably see Gilmour, Buonanotte, Enisco, Ferguson all courting £40+mill in a few years too.

They're set for decades.

If Brighton get decent replacements who they can buy low and sell high again, then it'll be almost impossible for them to fail barring an absolute disaster

It's an enviable business model

They are so well run compared to us that it's laughable
As a business model its working perfect for them.

To kick on from last season and climb the league even further will be almost impossible due to having to rebuild season after season as they keep getting there best players taken from them.

I think Brighton have hit their ceiling in terms of both a business and football model.

Same model that worked for Southampton right up until it didn’t.
There’s no doubting their transfer activity in the last few seasons looks impressive but as you say rebuilding every year can be your undoing. Look at how our rebuild when mosh arrived worked out.
Individuals that look good don’t always transfer / gel into a high performing team.
But at least they will be champions of the transfer net spend 🤷🏻‍♂️

Yeah literally the only thing that can wreck it for them now is signing a bucket of DUD's, and I can't see that happening

One or two here or there sure, but they'd have to actually TRY and screw this up now

If that ceiling is playing in the Prem every year and maybe sneaking into Europe when other sides around them have a duffer season, then that's decent for them considering the level they used to play at

Not knocking it whatsoever but i think 70% of the league would take what they are doing.

Problem with that is as we are seeing is you will never be able to break the monopoly at the top.
Clubs like Brighton and even ourselves cant build a team anymore we build players for profit or try to.

I see a lot of our fans saying we are getting a young team together if we get them over the line but they wont grow together it wont be allowed to because the sharks will circle and take who they want.

For example, Onana and Chermiti have a very good season this year then one or maybe be both will be gone next summer. Rinse and repeat.

Leicester did it in recent memory. Moyes took an odds on for relegation blues to fourth place. Hell, even Spurs made a CL final.

They are one offs mate, im saying it cant be sustained FFP makes sure of that.
All our eggs are in the stadium basket, we have to sell more everton to more and specifically wealthier spectators - that means corporate so that means corp entertainment facilities. I'd like to see season tickets pricing fall to ensure the place is sold out every week. Once BMD gets a reputation for atmosphere, and the pubs and bars move into the area the hope is the success follows. Iconic waterside development.
