Any examples of this? Chelsea have bought lots of players but they are not trying to stockpile them, they are trying their best to offload as many as they can. Other than that, every other team in the PL has weak positions, City with the fewest as they are great in midfield and up front but at the back they have a few weaknesses and older players that could do with some succession planning

They used to. Especially in their academy.

Chelsea weren't trying to stockpile youth players. They were buying as many as they could, sending them out on loan to try and increase their value and then sell them to another club. That is not stockpiling players so other clubs can't get them. That is buying players to try and make a profit
You've just defined stockpiling FFS!
Stick to your Villa fans forum mate we don't need your *wisdom"

Oh cool so the state owned’s are already throwing about unprecedented amounts of money for players who aren’t even at the top of the game and can just get away with it because football being bought by the Gulf is obviously a good thing right?

I for one cannot WAIT to watch the best competition in the world next season!!!

You’re saying that they bought them to off load them.Give your head a wobble mate.

Of course they didn't buy them to offload them, I never said that. They bought them because the CEO was doing their transfer business and probably has a little experience of FM. They are now is a position where they have to sell them and try and get a team out of their squad that can compete in the PL

It may not be what you meant, but it’s what you said.

So they bought vast quantities and kept hold of them until they could sell them at a higher price. Erm...

Yes, that is what they did. I have not said otherwise. If you read back at the post I replied to it says the top 6/7 are stockpiling the top talent. This is not happening!

Tonali for £60 million and £250k a week - Wow.

He is some player, but Italian players dont tend to travel well...always have the exceptions to that, but in general they are more of a risk.

Funny how they can spend what they want, get doped up sponsors yet no one bats an eyelid because the Saudi's are in bed with the Government / establishment.

But Moshiri spent money 5 years ago (and sold Lukaku, Gana, Stones in the process).

@Saint Domingo

Reports that Burnley have made an offer for Millwall's Zian Flemming. Now, I'm normally not for signing Dutch players and also might not be totally objective on this one, but there's a hint of Tim Cahill in this one for me. No idea how it will work out for him at Burnley and the PL if he gets his move, but he certainly isn't your typical Dutch player. Commitment, passion and desire.

Spent it badly, which is why we’re in a mess, stop blaming the government, Premier League, and everyone else and start looking at the real reason
