So was Eni Aluko... right? lol

How absolutely thick is she? I have no idea who she is but saw the comments in the media...

...she'd actually tell other clubs her transfer targets, ask them to bid for them and then convince her board to overpay for players...as a DOF.

its unprofessional at the very least.

I listened to her on Talksport yesterday and it sounded absurd what she was saying. But I then thought " what chairman is going to hire her as a Sporting Director of Football now, after she has said that?!".

Then she was on Talksport again this morning trying to justify what she said and she just made it worse. I think shes a decent pundit, but she shot herself in the foot with that.

I think its far more likely that City didnt want to get into a bidding war, they have walked away from transfers before. Either that or the players agent has said that Rice wants to go to Arsenal.

Seeing her desperately trying to vindicate her comments as being right all along was one of the weirdest and most insecure things I've ever seen. All a bit weird really

She essentially just came across like most football pundits do, a bit daft

Last season: relegated.

Leicester 2-1 Everton, 45 minutes in, the most critical moment of the season - a penalty to Leicester. James Maddison...Oops.

And that was merely one moment in a complacent, feckless, not-arsed and entitled season from Maddison. Basically, he didn't fancy it. In a team sport, he couldn't lift the players around him.

The truth is when this fella had to step up and prove himself a great player, he went missing. He's the very definition of a sunshine boy. Spurs fans will love him. He's everything they want in a player: glamorous, stylish, flatters to deceive when the pressure's on. The type of player who will get you fifth when fourth was in the bag - and look great doing it.

Jordan Pickford saved the penalty, he did his homework and saved it. Need to give the keeper some credit.

Maddison got 10 goals and 9 assists last season from midfield, most clubs in the bottom half would kill for a striker with those stats, let alone a midfielder. I think Spurs have a very good player for £40m

So that's Rice, Havertz and Mount going for a combined 235m or something mad. Wow, I doubt City are worried Arsenal and United are coming for them

Wonder how long it will take before Mount says 'I've joined the biggest club in the world' as United usually brief new signings to say.

This is becoming depressing. Really good player, still young, thought he'd likely head to the PL or another top league this summer, instead he's disappearing off into the desert.
