Other clubs Transfer window 2024-2025

They look to have improved but no way are they better than squads like Villa or Newcastle
Yes, they all appear similar in terms of quality. Just noting that the hammers seem to have joined that bunch based on the business done this summer. We’ll also get to see how Villa handles champions league and the prem which might challenge them.

They may not die at 30 but their resale value isnt the same, they move or wind contracts down.

Adding 3 years

Areola (34)
AWB (30)
Todibo (27)
Kilman (30)
Emerson (33)
Alvarez (29)
Soucek (32)
Bowen (30)
Paqueta (29)
Kudus (27)
Fullkrug (34)

Many of those players are recent signings as well. The value of that 11 will nosedive.

I think theyre going for the short term under their new manager and are gambling on top 6.

Soucek will hardly play this season, let alone in three years. Wouldn't be surprised if he's sold.
£20 million on 18yr old Luis Guillherme , £17 million on 22yr old Summerville. I expect them to feature. Some very good academy players too. I don't see anything short-termism about this now. David Moyes was short-term, he left behind one of the smallest and oldest squads and didn't give youth their chance. We'll see about Fullkrug however, I don't really know what to expect.

Can't see him netting 10+ at 31 or Dortmund letting him go if he was worth it.

And it was in comparison to Villa and Newcastle who have Isak and Watkins.

Only regular goal threat is Bowen and he's a winger. So if the striker does turn up then they'd be in the mix.
Isak needs to stay fit for the season (he won't) and Watkins will be a marked man this season, id expect his numbers to be a bit down on last season. The service from Bowen and Summerville and I reckon Fulkrug will score goals, he is a big old unit who will certainly knock CB about.

Agree to disagree there. With the likes of Kudus, Summerville, Bowen, and Paqueta supporting him, he’ll get chances, and he knows how to take them. Dortmund let him go because it’s their business model and West Ham offered good money for an older player. He’s still very good. Proved it at the euros too.

I think they've a good squad and I can see Fullkrug doing relatively well, but they have made so many signings that getting them integrated together is going to take time, especially with a new manager too. So I'd think they'll likely improve as the season goes on, but I don't see them getting close to the CL places. But that said, I think the CL places this year are more open than normal. Villa have made a lot of changes too, and with the CL matches to concentrate on I can't see them repeating last year. Similar with the RS, a new manager, but no new players and multiple exits, I think only City and Arsenal are guaranteed, and will be way ahead of everyone else, and it will be luck with injuries/suspensions/VAR decisions as who comes 3rd and 4th.

True. 3rd - 5th is wide open for a side to steal a march.

While I think West Ham have strengthened, they're just a bit behind Villa, Spurs, Newcastle IMO. But they were under Moyes too. They'll just be more consistent now.

Get that but he'll be reliant on service where as the other don't to net near 20 a season. Again comparing to Villa and Newcastle. Will also throw Spurs in.

The thing with West ham is getting all these new players to gel. No easy task.

Their fans get the right hump as well if they don't play the West ham way.

Plus this is West ham. See them coming 8th this season.

Marmadashvilli joining Liverpool? I can’t see him leaving Valencia to be a number 2, or Liverpool paying 26 mill for a backup keeper. Even if he’s loaned out for a season, does it suggest Allison is on the move this season or next?
