They're really well run.
Cash reserves of £137m as of January 2019.
Obviously the lack of champions league has hurt but they aren't skint, just tight. And unlike most of the top 6 they have no debt.
The self sustaining model means they'll only spend what they expect to make from and no more.
Not exactly a bad thing, just need to get rid of one or two players on crippling wages.

The academy is in rude health, won the league last year and only just lost out to your boys this year . If we start promoting likes of Willock,Nelson and Smith-Rowe plus a few canny buys from sale of Xhaka,Koscielny,Monreal,Mustafi plus £40m plus the manager will have had another window to get his own players in.
All in all the club's run ok off the field ,could be better. For a club the size it is,the sponsorship deals up on till recently were a joke.

Yeh they did really well whilst building the stadium as that could have crippled you lot if you went gung-ho in the market at the same time. You're lucky most of the PL is so weak you could not spend and still get Top 7.

So Griez, De Jong, maybe De Ligt. Where does FFP come into this?
Looks like Gomes, Rakitic, Malcolm, Denis Suarez, Umtiti and Rafinha will be sold. Although I'm not convinced the windfall from that will be too great...

On balance, they will be well within FFP as their net spend in transfers have been managed very well. I would be very surprised if their net spend exceeds 70-80 million for this upcoming season, likely far less
