I agree though they won’t buy him but disagree that they can’t. Which is a pity because, and this was the main point of my post, I’d prefer them to allocate all their transfer budget funding his capture than see them spend it more judiciously on areas that if improved could see them step up an even higher level.

So what? It’s still stands as an example that they can get a player other top teams are after. No matter that they win a bidding auction that’s the name of the game. If VVD thought City was a better destination he would have jibbed the RS off and Southampton would have been forced to accept City’s lower offer

City pulled out

Who else was willing to pay 75m for him, Same goes for Allison

It's hardly them winning the battle for a player when there's no other club in for them

Yeah, ok mate. They’re rubbish and no ambitious player with talent will play for them. I’d leave it at that because defending my position requires me to face reality and see them as a European force again. Better to exist in blissful denial.

Is Zaha likely to go, can't see many wanting to fork out 70-80m being bandied about that's two transfer windows budget for some of us.
I'd love me a bit of AWB but we've got no chance.
