falque looked good when i saw him. what's your take on caulker btw? i think it was a very bad move for cardiff, they really needed a commanding centre back with experience rather than a youngster with a season and half experience. he's also good with the ball at his feet, yet they are notorious long ball specialists so i don't see it as too good of a move for him.

It's a good deal for you in one way, but i thought he was tipped to be key to your future. very good prospect.

£6m for dempsey is a steal if that's true. i envy your club so much because of your chairman, without him spurs would be nowhere imo

Well if you do take Bale out of the equation then that gives them an extra £80m+ and £100k+ wages to play with. It's their midfield depth where they're better than us mostly, they've got Paulinho, Dembele, Sandro, Sigurdsson, Dempsey, Holtby, Huddlestone, Chadli, Parker, Lennon, Townsend and Livermore, any one of those would find a place in our squad, albeit some of them on the bench. We've got some very good midfielders but nowhere near that depth in quality.

None of them would interest me tbh mate, but thats just a difference of opinion, we have a few players ourselves that they could do with too.

It will be interesting to see what happens when the Bale deal is concluded, i'm not all that certain they will splash the cash, is it near £50m they have already spent ?

Time will tell I suppose, as it stands we'r not too far off them though imo.

I'v a horrible feeling we'l lose both Baines and Fellaini, if we do, we'l then be miles off them.

I'd honestly take any of those as squad players. We're sorely lacking numbers in CM plus one of Holtby, Dempsey or Townsend could replace Gueye or Naismith. I'd say if any of our midfield players became available Spurs would be interested in Mirallas, Fellaini, Barkley (although not yet proven) and possibly Gibson.

In terms of starting XI I think we're actually pretty close to Spurs. It's just if one of the likes of Gibson, Fellaini or Mirallas gets injured then we've got very little else of similar quality.
 
I didn't know the Dutch nutcase that is Royston Drenthe was at Reading...

He'll destroy that division if he calms down on the beak

None of them will get you goals or win games. And minus Dembele and Holtby, no real constant creativity. They've got 4 defensive midfielders and 1 pacy winger.

They're lacking in the back 4 too. Injury prone centre halves who are still injured.

The new Spanish kid will have to prove himself too. Defoe is getting on but still potent. And Adebayor is well... Him.

The Bale money will boost them. But I don't think their squad at the moment is something to worry about.

They spend the Bale money well, then they'll be away with the pack.

Marouane Chamakh to Palace probably on a 6month loan. He did well when originally at Arsenal and has goals in the Champions League for Bordeaux (not that that is ever likely to concern us lol). I reckon he will be really good for us, better than Carlton Cole (who wanted £40k a week and has subsequently been told by St Etienne that he is not fit enough to join.....I am presuming that is the French football club rather than the 80's band with the fit bird lead singer....)

Never really paid attention to Chamakh, his hair just made me hate him from the off. Think loans are a good idea for Palace. Get in a decent calibre of player and if they're crap or it all goes tits up, you're not stuck with their wages next season.

Shouldn't their be a law about having a quota on foreign players from that same country? How many French lads to they have now?
