Other teams summer transfer deals/ rumors

I think we all would mate

You do of course run the risk that if the player is a duffer we don't have an extra 30-50 Mil to sort it out come January where as other clubs will

That's true. I'm confident in our scouting staff though. Apart from Bily (who was another managers recommendation), all our big money players have been a success. Back in the times where we were sniffing around Defour and Moutinho etc.

In your opinion mate, do you think there will be a big name arriving a Goodison this summer? A big name of likes of Soldado etc.

Sadly not mate

We're quite thin on the ground so Ireckon we'll buy 2-3 players for 25 Mil rather than buying a big name signing

To be fair, that's what we should do

Buy in bulk this season, hoard some of the TV money and then grab a big name next season after consolidating this one

It does lack ambition but the fact is we've got a new manager means we should be cautious this season

I'm a cautious guy though

I understand and think it's a wise decision. My problem would lie then next season. A lot of the first team in or approaching their thirties. This is a MASSIVE season for us coming. A poor season will take away everything we've been building towards for the past few years.

There are some youth prospects in reserve as well

Barkley, Duffy, Kennedy, Junior, Springthorpe

These are all decent prospects who could really contribute given the chance

Barkley and Duffy are ready for the first team I think. The others will still need some work. How well we develop these youngsters could be key in the next season or two

Every season is MASSIVE for us and everyone else. Every transfer window, every drop of cash from the league and TV, every tiny sponsorship deal we cut, every kit deal we do that doesnt earn us in a decade what others are given per season.
A few decent transfers would prompt a bit of optimism but that is easily dashed when we compare to those around us throwing money at transfers for players like cash was going out of fashion. It boils down to eleven versus eleven on the day and maybe our new manager can squeeze another 10% out of the squad (where it will come from I have no idea because that exact quality was Moyes speciality along with bargains).
A full injury free season out of Gibson, same with Mirallas could be more important than any new face we get. A fully fit and firing Jelavic would be a massive boost, and the continued improvement of Coleman would not only be great for him and us but also to the youth prospects that have allegedly been frozen out of first team football by the now departed manager.

West Ham spend £15.5 million on Carroll

A younger slighty taller version of Kevin Davies. He'll do well following Allardyce around. Although it is a loss on that specific player they are recouping some of the massive outlay they got for Torres, so as much hilarity as them writing yet another £20million off is, they are 12 months ahead of us in terms of manager and 12 months ahead in terms of realising his vision with the squad he is slowly making his own. That he has had rather a lot of dross to cope with and they could well see racist of the year, I mean cannibal of the year, I mean their player of the season Mr Suarez up sticks and jump ship would be a massive step backwards, especially as bootroom favourite Carragher has just gone and Stevie Me Laa is soon to go too. All isn't quite so rosey over the way.

That 15m covers the Keeper/Striker/CB they have bought

add to that the £50 mil or so they will get for Suarez and Reina they will deffo have money for 2-3 class signings lets just hope they spunk it on that mickirtyan who turns out ****e and 1 or 2 other borini's heard they are after luis alberto for £6 mil+ 20 year old spanish striker 7 games for seville 0 goals capped 1 time for the under 21's in spain hopefully they end up paying close to £10 mil and he is poor

Cant see anyone spending 40m on Suarez

i'm really not worried by any of those signings. seriously, the best they can hope for next season is to finish above us with those signings. And this is only looking at it now with our current squad, who knows what we'll buy this summer. spending all that money to jump from 7th to 6th is a joke tbh.

mignolet is good but not really arsed about the others, don't expect coutinho and sturridge to continue their purple patches that happens to a lot of players either. there's a reason why one was a reject for the 9th best team in italy and the other couldn't outs torres as the only competition at chelsea

They're quite keen it seems!
