Anzhi Mackhachkala agree £12m fee with QPR for Chris Samba. He's now moved for 12m 3 times in the last four windows. No way is he a 36m pound player.

You lot are building my hopes up re Soldado!!
Doesn't sound like a Levy signing though (Levy doesn't do £17mn on 28yr olds!!). More likely to go for Villa on a free (or cheap at least!).

Heres hoping.

All relative i suppose. £100k a week for lets say 3 years? Comes to £15.6mn. A fee of £17mn for Soldado & £60k a week over 3yrs comes to £26.36mn. Would need to sell a 31yr old Soldado for over £11mn to be equally as cost effective. Villa would probably help the club shift more merchandise as well.

It is all academic though. We wont pay £17mn for Soldado - even though we probably should!
 
You would get fed up with Sky Sports News going on about Cavani. One minute they break the 'exclusive' news that he's close to signing for Chelski, then they break he's near to PSG switch. A while later, it will be someone else and the empty-souled presenter will sit there with a stupid grin like a dog expecting to be patted for bringing back a bone!

I mean, they are competing with themselves over breaking news stories. I wonder will they start suing themselves over the crap they broadcast?

Soldado's class, a clinical finisher, not the strongest or the quickest but his speed of thought means he can get away it, I'm surprised Man City's in for Negredo and not Soldado.

Borussia Dortmund are thought to be close to agreeing a deal for highly-rated St Etienne striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang.

Reports emanating from Germany claim Dortmund are in pole position to land the Gabon international with talks at an advanced stage between both clubs.

A host of clubs across Europe have been linked with a move for Aubameyang, with Newcastle credited with a long-term interest in the 24-year-old.

However, it appears UEFA Champions League finalists Dortmund are ready to meet St Etienne's asking price for the prolific forward.

The news will be a blow for Newcastle as they had been keeping tabs on Aubameyang for several months and was thought to be one of Alan Pardew's top summer transfer targets.
