so many things wrong with this,

firstly- football isn't a job until retirement age so he's allowed to sit on his arse for £70k a week, nonsense, you will retire from football in your mid thirties a multi multi millionaire and set for life at his current wages, so crying poverty once he retires would only be because he has wasted all his money, he literally would never need to work again.

he is in right to see out his contract as you say we were stupid enough to give him one, but when people like Ashley Williams and yannick bolasie, mirallas etc etc are getting called leeches for not moving on but someone this absolute cart horse is lauded as some sort of icon is baffling, he's any bit as bad as the others mentioned

lastly, how has he shown nothing but class? I mean he's not kicked off which he could have but only massive bellwhiffs kick off anyway, he's just got his head down and continued training for the pleasure of £70k a week.

nothing against the lad what so ever, however the way he's made out by some is madness, utterly horrific player

I feel you are missing my point slightly. I am not saying he will not be well off for the rest of his life, my point is more that he will have become accustomed to earning £70k per week and so retiring in his thirties will mean he will need to rely on what he has earnt from Everton and his other clubs for the rest of his life - for this reason alone I dont begrudge him wanting to continue earning £70k whether he plays or not rather than go to a club better suited to his level for a lower wage.

Everton are to blame for all of this, not Oumar. Anyone in his position would have accepted the contract offered so it is just down to our poor management at the time and the same can be said of the "leeches" you speak of.

Let's be real here, if you were offered a contract with another company doing the same job as you are now for three times the wage, you would take it.

As for the class part, Koeman treated him very badly in my opinion and he just got on with his business and when called upon actually did a better job than a lot of those around him at the time. He came in to the team and scored some important goals, it is just that his all round game play is neither up to the level we need or the level that justifies the wages he is taking home.

I do get your point, I just don't agree with it.

regardless of what age he retires he will have enough money to do as he pleases, as long as he isn't a moron with his money, secondly just because he retires from playing at mid thirties it doesn't mean he can't go into coaching/management etc etc to earn money again so it's not like once he retires from playing he can never earn money again

I fully agree I would take the money and sit on it, my point isn't he is in the wrong my point is why some people think so highly of him when he's just a horrific footballer who will have end up costing this club a massive fortune,.

the class part again I disagree with the most, I just don't see how someone paid £70k a week who CLEARLY isn't good enough to play for everton has a leg to stand on when the then everton manager tells you they aint good enough, is he class for just doing his job?

he's just a decent pro who is very very fortunate to have been given this insane contract, he should be grateful for the rest of his life he has gotten away with 5 years at them wages for contributing next to nothing

also, marco silva hasn't done anything majorly different to what koeman has, he has ostracised him from the squad and told him he is free to go, is marco silva treating him badly? or just looking out for the best interests in everton?

It's not just him
Klassen, bolasie, niasse, mirallas, Williams, Sandro, schneiderlin, Walcott tosun.

Your looking at losing well over 100m on these players

We have made significant profits from Vlasic, Lookman, and Gueye, in addition to the monumental profits obtained from the sales of Stones and Lukaku. All in the Moshiri era.

It probably evens itself out, and I'd like to see a bit of investment in the playing squad, rather than just spending Everton's money as we have been for years.

I would not be surprised if in the next few weeks we see an agreement between club and player whereby the club will compensate Niasse but not to the full value of the remaining contract, his contract will then be cancelled and he will be able to go to any other club and negotiate a deal and get to play football again.

He is in the last year of his contract, nobody wants to pay money for him , he can sign a pre contract agreement with a foreign club in January and by doing a deal now we may actually be able to save some money.

I personally dont think Silva has treated Niasse like Koeman has. Koeman had him training on his own or with the youngters, took his locker off him etc. We have seen recently that Icardi at Inter has explored the legal options available to a player that is told to train on his own etc. From reading a few of those articles, it seems as though the overriding legal opinion is that if a manager were to tell a player to train on their own or at a level like the U18's/20s then that could constitute constructive dismissal as the players reputation and abilities are being damaged by not being given the training options to improve their game like they should get from live first team training.

I do get your point and accept that anyone earning 70k should be very appreciative, I just dont think he can be criticised for what he is doing. Unless he says he is unwilling to play for Everton then he is effectively earning the money we have agreed to pay him. It was much like the Rodwell situation at Sunderland and you saw how those conversations went in the documentary they had and I think Rodwell was similarly within his rights to do his best to train like a professional and take the money he signed up for.

Appreciate we have different views mate though so let's just hope that whatever the outcome, we manage to get him off the wage bill asap.

100% DCL has tried but he just isn't good enough, Silvia still having loyalty to him is weird.
When your only options are Tosun and Naisse then loyalty to DCL is not hard to understand.
I cant see DCL starting too many league games, unless Kean shows signs of fatigue
Even then i would prefer Richarlison up top and try iwobi or Walcott out wide right

It scares me that some fans actually think we havent spent any money.

How can I share a planet with people so stupid?
