Based on how our season is going and the fact that Lukaku is quite clearly far too good for this Everton team, I think it's fair to say any 10m+ striker is going to be his replacement. Anybody who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves.

It's just a lot of money, for that I'd expect to bring in a starter as opposed to a jack of all trades type.

Being versatile doesn't have to mean you're a jack of all trades, master of none (which that phrase usually implies!). Seems like he's a very capable CF.

Austin scores goals for sure but do you not think that maybe there are reasons it's taken half a season in the Championship for a Prem club to bite? And for £4m in this day and age. Sometimes things that seem too good to be true, often are. If this was the Everton of 3 years ago I'd be screaming for Austin but I personally don't believe he fits the way we play these days.

I always like how the most dense amongst our support use the prefix "clearly" before a statement of pure wham.

I'm going to get you banned so you can cry like a lil bish again.

I'm curious to know why you say he was "bang average" last season, he scored four goals and had three assists from just thirteen Premier Liga appearances. An average of a goal every 193 minutes, pretty much a goal every two games which really isn't a bad strike rate. I do wonder as to why he only made thirteen appearances that season. I won't lie, I've never even seen him play but statistically he did well from the limited minutes he had.

As for McGeady, statistically he wasn't doing anything very exciting. He was a player Martinez must of liked, was available mid-season and cost next to nothing. No Evertonian was banging on about him or even wanting to sign him.

Mate Bilyaletidinov scored 2 and had 3 assists in 17 games last year

McGeady for example had 5 goals and 4 assists in 17 league games the last season before joining us

as for bang average, based purely on the player i have seen play mate, he doesn't have anything about him at all that makes you think he can take the step up to a much tougher league, can't explain it any better than that....

Yeh maybe austin was a bad example, but it seems like we're just replacing a naismith for a more expensive naismith. I hope if it does come off I'm proved very wrong. He's won player of the eyar in the russian league which is something I guess.
