Why is it unfair to question how a professional footballer isn't fit more than two months after signing? He's not even getting time for the u21s?To be honest, I assumed that he was picked up at an opportune time as a longer term investment. So I was happy for him to take his time in settling in. Wasn't expecting to see him doing much this season but looking forward to seeing him after a proper pre season. Can't believe that people are judging him already.

I don't think most are criticizing the player, they're critical of the transfer and substantial fee paid.
Martinez is almost indicating that he won't be playing a part this season...that would be fine if he was say Henen/Holgate and was bought for the future...but we're talking about a 13.5m signing here...and that, imo, indicates more than just fitness
I have absolutely no idea why or evidence to justify it....but from the moment he was introduced to the crowd at Goodison I thought...he doesn't look like a professional footballer..and nothing I've seen or heard in the past 2 months has done anything to allay my concerns.
I really can't remember a big signing that Evertonians are less arsed to see playing than this guy...again, for no obvious reason
Why am I thinking Per Kroldrup??
I'm more concerned by how poor he looked in the minutes he has hadI'm concerned about the lack of minutes this player had
Writingwow! people righting him off before he even starts a match
Its comments like this that irk me. It's been OVER two months and the manager said he's about 50-60% match fit. This is a professional footballer, mate. Thats longer than a preseason and he's not even featuring for the u21's to get his fitness up. There is something very peculiar about this signing..wow! people righting him off before he even starts a match
At least he was deemed good enough to play though. What I would expect by now is for him to be in the team showing glimpses of what he can do, and for his minutes on the pitch to be increasing as he gets used to the league. You wouldn't expect to see the best of him until next season, but to see hardly anything tells me that Martinez doesn't think he's as good as he thought he was when he paid £13m...Fellaini looked awful for his first few months. The indication is that we have bought a dud but you never know.
