Whilst the lad can't be judged until he's had some proper game time, the one thing I just don't get is, if he's not fit enough to start a prem game yet, then why isn't he getting some game time with the U21s to gain some match fitness.

Needs more time to get fit, perhaps throughout the summer he will get fitter and come back all cylinders firing!! I suppose it all depends if we keep hold of lukuku or not

According to Martinez it's not fitness it's that he hasn't adapted yet. To be fair he's a pro footballer, regardless of how long the Russian break is he's been here since January. Short of him having an injury it can't take a pro athlete more then 2 months to get back upto fitness after a few weeks off. What did he do all winter? Sit in his room eating dominos for 3 meals a day and chain smoking B&H
