Oumar Niasse

I think that's probably now the best-win scenario and what we're all hoping for from Niasse; a player who'll come good after adapting to England.

Well obviously apart from him suddenly being an immense talent during the few remaining games (Amo anyone), but that looks unlikely.

Yet, I can't help feel somewhat unnerved when you consider all the rumours going around and from the small glimpses that what we've seen.

Add to that Martinez's comments about and the fact the Russian league is back up and running although he's still not. We'll just have to see...
I do not see the faith, we bought him to play and he isn't good enough. You do not spend 13m on a player to sit on our bench forever. We are not thag type of club. Ffs even bily got game time cos he obviously could play a bit of footy!

No we're not and if you read what I said, I was in fact saying that hopefully the outcome was that he'd eventually be ready for next season.

It's not desirables by any means and I'd be much happier if he was ready now, but until we've seen him it's become the most favourable solution.

Is itself a likely outcome though? I'm not so sure really and it is disheartening, however simply giving up on the lad isn't particularly mature.

To be fair yes it's looking more likely all the time that he's simply not good enough; we've just go to hope and pray that eventually he will be.

Fair points.

However myself I'm not saying I'm writing him off either, I'm saying I am no longer excited about the acquisition. At least in the manner of our other signings, think about it we'd never heard of Mori and he came straight in because he can do the job - he is now one if my favourite players, and niasse could end up being that - however.. hearing somebody who actually sees him training etc tell me he's no good puts a downer on things.

*rubs temples*

you're still missing the point. the TRANSFER is very weird. He may turn out to be a world beater. But we spent 13.5m on him and he's absolutely nowhere near a first team spot(and I'd say if we even had a half decent 2nd/3rd striker in our youth team they'd be on the bench instead of him). Even our esteemed manager said he's "only 50-60% fit" then puts him onto the pitch with 3 minutes to go down by a goal.

As you're the one picking holes in my post, if we aren't on the same wavelength then I'd suggest you're the one missing the point.

I've listed some possible reasons why an Everton player isn't performing well so far. You are free to agree to disagree with that.

Your point is that the whole transfer is weird and that it is odd he is being pushed into the team for 10 minutes at the end of a match by a manager who says he isn't fit. I'm not going to argue that, but it doesn't really invalidate my original suggestions, does it?

I can't help but feel I'm fighting a losing battle that I didn't even know I was in.

Just been speaking to my uncle, works at Manchester United and his son works as a coach at everton. Said this before and not many have taken notice, however...

He's told me niasse is abolsutely crap. Nowhere near the level we expected. I trust him and thus am no longer looking forward to this acquisition.

Also, the people working inside everton want martinez out. The unrest is actually real, not jarg.

Believe me or not, this is what I've been told.

Well far be it from me to question your opinion that is based upon such strong anecdotal evidence from your uncle, but how about we at least give him one start before writing him off.
