Love how all the experts on here can judge a player on just over 23 minutes in total. Il pass judgement on him when he actually starts a few games n gets a run. If he not up to it then so be it.

The general theme is not necessarily how bad he looked when playing (I haven't even seen him play yet!) but the manner in which his tenure has been handled leading to all manner of theories around his abilities. I think it's perfectly understandable that there's a worry it's all gone catastrophically wrong.

I admit boss isn't the correct word, but he did come good. He was our most consistent performer for a while there.

He was consistently gash and would very occasionally be in the right place to scuff a finish in. Let's not pretend he was ever a key player for us, he got us about 6 goals a season

If the team was playing well we would probably have seen a lot more of Niasse by now , but , it isn't.
We are struggling all over the pitch and confidence levels are low, so bringing an untried striker into the team may not be the easiest thing to do.

Was never a key player for us, but is more of a player than niasse ever will be. Either way excellent business getting 8m for Naismith, woeful almost shameful that we forked out 13.5m for his replacement.

This is my problem with the whole transfer too!

Nobody would be questioning this transfer if it happened during the Summer and Niasse was only getting 10 minutes a game in pre-season. It's the fact that Martinez spends £13m on a player in the January transfer window who is completely unable to offer any sort of squad depth or strength for the rest of the season.
