how can a lad improve and get up to speed with the league if he doesn't even get on the f###ing pitch.

We don't get to watch him day after day in training though. If he's terrible during the week, why would we play him at the weekend in a match which we're hoping to win?

This is on par with koldrup for one of the strangest signings in recent memory. Can see him being sold back to Russia in the summer for an undisclosed fee. It obvious something isn't right with the lad. By selling him, we will cut our losses and the lad will have a chance to reserrect his career.

I made a specific point of watching him in the pre-game and half time kick-abouts and I do so want to be wrong, but he looks dreadful.

Playing 15-20 passes with Stevie P at halftime, he failed to control one from SP and most if not all of his to SP weren't within six feet of SP.

He then tried one or two little tricks on his own and I'm not kidding fellas, he looks beyond poor.

I so, so, so want to be wrong on this, but I fear we've flushed £13 million down the toilet.

Does look a major cockup. What would have happened if Kone was injured would he of put him in then? But to put kids on before Niasse(granted not in his position) stinks of that Aquilani for Liverpool were benetiz refused to play him because he was a joke for £20mill

I hate to judge players after so little game time but the longer this drags on, the more you have to fear that his lack of game time is down to him being a scouting faux pas.

That said I think Martinez's transfers have been mostly brilliant. It's everything else that's unequivocally gash.

Unless he was on something in Russia! Or the general RM low morale has affected him in a bad way. Or is it a combination of coming straight of Christmas break and adapting to new league and culture

This is indeed a very odd situation, but I can't work it out. It doesn't sound as though he was a stab-in-the-dark or panic signing:

1. If he is not fit to play, why is he taking up a place on the bench that could be given to someone else?
2. If he is not match-fit, he needs to be playing in games like today with little at stake other than pride.
3. I can't believe he can't play because he hasn't settled... his Mrs lives in Manchester, so he must have known what England/North West was like, and he is an African who has lived in Russia which is hardly home-from-home. Even so, surely the best way of getting more settled is by making a contribution on the pitch?

Let's hope when finally given his chance he has been worth waiting for!
