This is what I'd read... from the Echo:

But there were five players Koeman rested
Captain Phil Jagielka and Gareth Barry, two of the squad’s elder statesmen, were not included in the 20 that faced FK Jablonec this afternoon.

In the skipper’s case, Koeman wanted to give the centre-half partnership of Galloway and Holgate the full match, and is instead likely to start Jagielka at Barnsley in seven day’s time.

Barry also remained on the sidelines as the Everton manager took a closer look at Conor Grant in the second-half against Jablonec.

Matthew Pennington, Mateusz Hewelt and Arouna Kone were the other members of the travelling party that didn’t play.

Must be the squad he put on the "Teamsheet" then. Maybe their fitness wasn't up to it? Either way I hope Kone and Niasse are shipped out ASAP
