Oumar Niasse

Apparently Niasse has been key to helping Gana settle, which is a good thing.

But he isn't Premier League standard mate. It's painfully obvious.

Maybe not, I genuinely have no idea if he is or he isnt as he hasnt played nearly enough. Not even remotely. And everyone saying he is crap is totally guessing too if we are being honest.

I can only guess that Niasse has something wrong with him mentally (as in he hasnt settled etc, not in that he is insane etc...). If not then I find the treatment of him so far by all aspects of the club to be shockingly bad.

Still, its a business I suppose.

If he wasn't crap, Koeman would've given him a squad number. It's not really guessing.

And supposedly he's done very little to help himself in regards to 'settling'.

It's a shame, think we all wanted him to do well, but he just isn't good enough.

Its not as easy as that though. Sometimes a player just wont fit in with what a manager wants. I do think the attitude thing is the only thing that resulted in him (and McGeady) not getting a squad number otherwise it was a bit daft.

He really hasnt been given a chance, and I am not saying he should be given one either. Its obviously not worked out for him, I'm fine with that, it happens with much bigger name players and at every club.

I'm not going to judge him as a player either though as I really have nothing to back up any opinion of him one way or another.

I've seen the boy Oumar trot out in the royal blue 7 (seven!) times, and can confirm the lad is complete trousers.

Hope this helps.

Why are people making their judgements on this guy based on, what? 50-60 mins of actual 1st team playing time? Oumar Niasse is surely a better option than Kone. Wouldn't mind seeing Niasse and Valencia both up front tomorrow.
Did you watch him during those 50-60mins though? Rarely have I ever seen an individual so bad at anything! We genuinely could of used a fan in the crowd and got better results, He makes Kone look a world beater ffs! He's one the worst player's to ever wear the royal blue jersey. It's fitting indictment that he was Martinez's last signing as it completely sums up that clown.

Yeah he never ever made a good signing for us did he?

Every manager has bad signings.

Mate there's bad signings and then there's Ali Dia signings [the Sunday league player who masqueraded as George Weah's cousin and hood-winked Souness into giving him 45 mins at Southampton. Also Senagalese, coincidentally].

Ali Dia just made Southampton look silly - he didn't actually cost any money. Ali Dia Mk II, currently sweeping the changing rooms at Finch Farm, cost 13 million....

Nice that he's been helping Gueye showing him round Liverpool.

He's like our very own Senegalese travel advisor to the city.

Koulibaly wouldn't have signed that new Napoli contract if he'd have at least came over for a night and partook in one of Oumar's tours.

Some managers have more bad than good.

Even some of his good weren't unknown gems. Lukaku wasn't exactly a shot in the dark, he cost a lot of money from Chelsea and we got a try before we buy loan deal. Barry had 500 odd appearances before he joined us. Holgate is potentially v good, Del is still mostly potential with some flashes of brilliance.

The good
Lukaku,Barry,Deuloufeu, Holgate

The average
robles, Mori, mcCarthy, Lennon, Besic, Eto'o

the bad
Cleverly, kone, alcaraz, niasse, Traore, Rodriguez, henen, McGeady

The unknown

Agreed.
That guy who got on the pitch to swap shirts with Nyarko all those years ago comes to mind, and he looked like he had a few pints on him

A list like that sort of makes it look like he was a little unlucky. The reality is very different. The first signings that moron made was of the entire spine of the Wigan team that had just been relegated, ie Robles, Alcaraz, Mccarthy, and Kone. What the hell made him think they would perform better than they had done when relegated?
