Oumar Niasse

Have you watched the u23's games he played in , most of his goals were tap in's from a yard out, after great work by proper young footballers. This guy can't even make the sengal squad for the afcon.

Have you ever played against or with a professional footballer, even one at a lower level? The likes of Morcambe are pretty crap but if you put an average fella who plays football with his mates once in a while alongside them, he would stand out like a sore thumb.

Niasse has played for Senegal, a top flight Turkish team and a top flight Russian team - you think the average Joe off the street would be able to pull that off? As I said, you may not rate him as a footballer, but he clearly is one so to say otherwise is a ridiculous statement.

He didn't sign him. It was imposed on him. That is the understanding I have.

That goes against everything I believe I know about how the club used to work under our managers.

Since when have scouts had the freedom to push the board to signing 13 million pound players for the first team without the Manager's approval?

That doesn't make sense. We know Moyes had full control over his transfers, why would we assume Martinez wouldn't also?

In fact, I'd argue that because Martinez had that much control over transfers and loaded us with tosh that the club felt it was imperative to sign a DoF to prevent a Niasse signing ever happening again.

When you say understanding you mean "What I made up in my head".

“He (Niasse) was voted the best footballer in Russian League and is a player who can be very important for us. In January he needed to work on his fitness, and now he's at a level where he can compete,” said Martinez.

“He's not the finished article. His contribution was important. Rom has played 44 games and the FA Cup semi-final was demanding, physically and mentally.

“Oumar worked his way into the game, and the fans were able to see our player. You need to have a belief in all the players we have in the squad – and I've got that belief in Oumar.”

Managers often sign players off the back of the advice of scouts, but the sane ones bother themselves to check the player out for themselves.

If he sanctioned a £13.5m move off the back of Reeves word and a couple of You Tube clips then he's just as culpable as the scout who rated the donkey
Sure he had a big part in it - I never stated otherwise. But I tend to think most of the blame lies with Reeves - who left the club this summer.
