If the fella that signed him were still here I'd imagine his wrist would still be "injured" and he'd be hidden away to try and cover up the horrific / dubious deal that brought him here.

Do 3 yard out goals score less than anywhere else?

His finish against the RS was perfect. made a good run, controlled it well, shielded the ball giving the defender no option to tackle (or bring him down) and then placed it where the keeper had left himself exposed.

We are allowed to praise the lad when he does something well, nobody is keeping score.*

His all round game seems a bit...unique, but he obviously knows where the back of the net is. Some players are just like that.

*someone probably is actually...

I heard about it as soon as I'd finished celebrating Lukaku's 4th. Both goals must have gone it at exactly the same time, to the second. Absolutely wet myself, the section of the stand erupted in laughter as the info was being passed on. What a moment.

No not really.

He is nowhere near as bad as people were making out either though. From what I have seen (which still isnt much) he looks very raw but he does have a bit about him in terms of athleticism and seems to get in the right places at the right times. 13.5M isnt really that much these days and we bought him in January which usually brings a premium. Hes probably a 7-8M player I reckon realistically.

Nothing dodgy about it. Why are some of our fans dying for that to be the case?

He's dreadful.

It is the case. I think the whole thing taps in to a lack of transparency at the club which a lot of people are sick of. It's still pretty murky with regards who scouted him? Who authorized the signing? Why did we buy him?

Hopefully now we're in a better place in this regard. RonK and Walsh have publicly stated how targets are identified and that they both agree on them before we try to put a deal in place.

Similarly with Rhino and the youth signings. There seems to be better communication between club and fan-base, long may it continue.

Sigh...what lack of transparency? You are looking for something that isnt there. Its got nothing to do with us!

Why did we buy him? Because he scored goals at a decent ratio in Russia. We were struggling so chanced our arm. Martinez said at the time that he would probably be a player for next season (this one now..) rather than at the time but he has stuff he could work with. Why does anyone buy anyone?

It didnt work out, so what? It doesnt make it a dodgy deal nor do you are anyone else need to know who "authorized" it. He is showing that he is at least capable of contributing at this level. there are plenty of "dreadful" players in the top flight, plenty of which cost a decent amount of money.

We overpaid a bit for him thats all.

course not pal, my point is though any decent keeper saves his goal against Liverpool, watch it again and tell me it was a good finish... he rolled it along the ground straight at mignolet, never even dinked it or went either side literally straight at the keeper

as I said though, hope he does well so we get some money but if he goes the rets of the season without scoring it wouldn't surprise me
