It's not that though.

It's not that he's just had a bad patch; it's that he looks actually awful at football.

For example, as bad as McGeady is, he can still somewhat play football, so you can't accuse him of not being a footballer.

With Niasse? Honestly I've not seen much to convince me he actually is one.

So I don't think the reaction to Niasse is dumb at all - it's one of genuine, understandable confusion at how we can pay close to £14m on someone who looks like a pub player could run rings around. You can say he needs a pre-season etc. and I did agree with that at first, but he's been four months now, has had a bit of game time, and I don't think you need a pre-season to understand the basics of football. None of what we've seen thus far can be put down to just being rusty; it really does look like he doesn't know how to play football, not that he's rusty or just inconsistent at it.
We were told that he had an unorthodox style when he signed, however he looks like he genuinely doesn't know what he's meant to be doing.

Look at them writing off a player that's clearly nowhere near good enough, pfffft

Just not sure why it's the fans fault for 'rushing to judgement' that requires his immediate sell.

That's the fans fault for the atmosphere, the fans fault for Martinez's failings, the fans fault for Naisse etc etc

I blame the fans for the stream quality, I really do.

I can see why the players laugh about him in training tbh. I nearly split my sides every time he went near the ball on Saturday, imagine some of the stuff he gets up to in training on a daily basis

Whenever a ball comes within 5 yards of him.

One of the key areas for me in seeing whether a player understands the game is to watch their movement off the ball.

Watch Niasse when he's running into the box anticipating a cross from the wings - runs in a dead straight line parallel to the touch line - no diagonal movement or change of direction . Even if he had the necessary skills he'd be the easiest forward in the world to mark.

Seemed like a decent fellow on the EiTC video, and I hear the players don't dislike him, but just not at the standard required.

I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt on Saturday, as it's very easy to write someone off. What I can say is that he runs about a fair bit more than a lot of our players, which unfortunately where we are at sticks out like a saw thumb. I think that will be the best he can be for us really, a lad who can run himself into the ground. Bringing him on against West Ham looks one of the most bizarre decisions in recent times, I have to say.

I think the decision to bring him on against West Ham was the straw that broke the camels back with the players. With the exception of the Chelsea game it's been all downhill since.

Niasse against Sporting - he looks decent enough, excellent goal, good assist.

I'm hanging on to the hope he just needs a good pre-season and a manager who knows what he is doing.
