But if we do that we have a £10 million loss at a time we are struggling to make football related profits in order to pay more money to new high quality players.

As @madkiwi says, we are caught up in a nightmare situation with this fellow.

It doesn't matter to us now mate, we aren't penny pinchers anymore. Plus what's done is done, Martinez the absolute shat-for-brains was the one who paid £13.5m for him, he is no longer here and our new manager who has been schooled in Dutch total football won't be interested in a player who doesn't even know what his own legs are doing

it's actually probably not mate. You still have to protect your assets even if you don't want them, the club would rather try and turn him into a semi-useful player then take a 10m loss on him.

I'm willing to bet that Koeman will know within 10 minutes of his first training session that this man can never be semi-useful at Premier League level. I'm sure we'd all rather take the £10m loss than have to see him taking up space on the pitch in actual real competitive games

oh don't get me wrong i believe we are actively looking to move the lad on as soon as possible.

But we just won't accept a 10m loss on him either way mate, maybe around 6-7m we would accept. But if not he'll stay here and we will try and improve him until we CAN get an acceptable fee. or he will be loaned out to achieve that.

It ain't a question of us being penny pinchers.

It is about FPP rules.....The Esk has made a post explaining the bind we are in over wages just this very day.

The easiest way round it is to sell Rom or Stones at a big profit.

And if we take £3 million for Omar that will take ten million out of the kitty.

As I see it we are stuck with Niasse for the time being at least.

Anyone think we could off load for something in the region of £4 million to a Russian club ?

Martinez owes us and should buy him off us !

....the player would have to endorse the move. Would you swap £60k per week for not working for a life in Russia on £20k per week. It's simple really. We will have to pay him lots of money to give up this contract and you can't blame the player.

I remember the day he signed and almost everybody was on the edge of their seats to get the deal over the line, it was only one of our lads based in Russia who was suggesting it as a bad signing.

It was common knowledge he wanted to move near his mrs in manchester.

hes going nowhere.

hes our winston bogarde.
