2017/18 Oumar Niasse

Phil Neville, one of Niasse's executioners on Saturday, today tweeted that "diving is ok if it helps you win the game".
No words.

Biggest issue for me is how this happened. It came out off the bushes. It also has no logic innit: retrospective action is ok in diving but not in some other things where retrospective action could actually help making game more fair. Total failure from FA. Are they targeting Everton on purpose? We may have rattled some cages with our new way to do things.

While I am extremely sorry the charge has been brought against an Everton player I fully support this course of action. If you cheat and there is a way to detect it then I feel it should be used.
I hate this nonsense peddled by "pundits" stating you have an entitlement to go down. No you don't. The rules don't state that you not allowed to be touched.
I am all for video coverage being used to punish wrongdoing. If players and managers feel they may get caught and punished then they will stop committing these offences.
The same thing applies to "holding in the box", if referees started giving penalties or free kicks and sending players off it would be illuminated within a month.
Of course all the above is on the grounds that it is applied evenly across the board. It will be interesting to see how many top four teams have their players found guilty using video evidence.

Fine, have the little kangaroo court for the 'dive'. But EFC and other clubs need to kick up an almighty stink if this isn't being applied consistently (Jesus how many did Rs get in one season when they almost won it), complaint or no complaint.

What are the odds that Palace go down by a point and blame the Niasse "dive" as the only reason?
Bolton 98 zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Players either dive without any contact or go down too easily with minimal contact, Niasse did the latter. Personally I think it’s wrong, but it’s not illegal. These pundits have been claiming for years that there are fouls and penalties where most fans think there has been no offence. I hope this case brings it all out into the open and acts as a stimulus to sort it out once and for all.......[/ mQUOTE]

The irony is the rule change introduced this season by the FA came about following pressure from the clubs and following agreement by the leagues( who were informed by the clubs) the PFA & LMA.The rules mirror those that have been in place in Scotland for a year or two

There are only two situations when the powers that be can take another look at simulation and that is when a penalty has been awarded or an opponent is dismissed.
It appears that significant research has been conducted and whilst it seems hard to believe they can tell a lot in such instances by the movement of the players head and how soon after contact they go down. People keep talking about contact or no contact that’s irrelevant in the debate

This has nothing to do with it being Everton or an agenda there was contact but was it enough for him to go down as he did? For me the answer is straight forward and the charge despite how gauling was justified and now one charge has been made let’s just hope for consistency

Looking on twitter, you'd think he had been single handily ruining football for years with his consistent diving, but now he's finally been caught (like some paedophillic child killer) all will be right in the world again and we can return to playing the beautiful game, free of that horrible cheat!!! Jesus, people need to look at their own teams an get a grip :coffee:

My advice is don’t look on twitter. I don’t use it, but whenever I see links, just seems to be full of snowflakes & hysterical bellends.

How do you cover the blatant cheating of both Brighton and Leicester defenders who got away with fouls in the box which all pundits called as penalties? The F.A. have succumbed to pressure to act on a problem that as one poster has pointed out is not really there. 1 debatable offence in 120 games out of 380. They should be addressing the pathetic refereeing which allows defenders to cheat and go unpunished a la Stoke last night
