FA wont be able to keep up with this rule. It will be shoite storm after every controversial "dive" after this. It's also unclear how this will effect referees, cause it will.

This rule has been running for several years in Scotland and there doesn’t appear to have been any negative impact on the refs but the players it seems have been impacted.

This rule wasn’t unilateraly introduced by the FA all the governing bodies such as the LMA, PFA had to agree Andalusia those bodies including the PL canvassed their members to gain consensus

For me there is a far bigger issue with penalties not being awarded as opposed to retrospective action being taken for simulation, but as I hate the thought of video refs I have to accept that the refs do get the vast majority of descions correct.

Same here. Video/goaline stuff for purely linear decisions, goaline and offside basically. Most other stuff is subjective and opinion based. As we have seen with this today.

You’re correct they do get the majority of decisions correct but seem to have really difficulty as you say when it comes to awarding valid penalties. That for me is why the ref’s decision should be final as the thought of video refs is not something I want to have to contemplate, but this is the slippery slope to it in my opinion. Then watch the top 6 sail even further away

Amen to that. How many times have we all been shouting and cussing at a ref or an asset because they got an offside wrong or the ball was out yet the replays show otherwise.

Once again the fa are making a pigs ear of something that could be so simple to eradicate. He'll get something stupid like a two game ban as well, which will stop nobody actually diving. So is the rule only designed to look at events which lead to a penalty actually being given?

They're not going to look at actual dives where a player gets a measly yellow card. Nor are they going to look at events like a dive that wins a free kick which ends up in a goal?
