Once again the fa are making a pigs ear of something that could be so simple to eradicate. He'll get something stupid like a two game ban as well, which will stop nobody actually diving. So is the rule only designed to look at events which lead to a penalty actually being given?

They're not going to look at actual dives where a player gets a measly yellow card. Nor are they going to look at events like a dive that wins a free kick which ends up in a goal?

He isnt being done for diving. Hes being done for diving badly.

You’re correct they do get the majority of decisions correct but seem to have really difficulty as you say when it comes to awarding valid penalties. That for me is why the ref’s decision should be final as the thought of video refs is not something I want to have to contemplate, but this is the slippery slope to it in my opinion. Then watch the top 6 sail even further away

A quick look at the stats show that there have been 23 penalties awared in the PL this season to date. Everton are joint top having been awarded 3 . Eight clubs including the likes of Spurs and Chelsea haven’t had one.

My advice is don’t look on twitter. I don’t use it, but whenever I see links, just seems to be full of snowflakes & hysterical bellends.
lol It is funny tho ;) everyone who has an opinion thinks they're automatically right because they have said opinion, then forget how to argue an just revert to typing abuse

Retrospective action can only be taken when the player has conned the ref and a penalty awarded or an opponent has been dismissed.

I’ve just seen the incident for the first time. Defo not a dive but he does make the most of it as they say. Dann gives it to him on a plate tbf.

I actually hate diving, and think it's great that the FA have set - up something that will, hopefully, and fairly, do something about it, the worry I have though is the FA being fair and consistent, just can't see it.

That is the problem. Royal Blue Mersey posted a vid of several other clear dives from earlier this season, all without penalty. Or rather, the diver got the PK, and faced no penalty after the fact.

As an American, I've given up on the NBA as it is a complete joke in which some players/teams get called for breathing whereas marketable players from top teams could go "Last Boyscout" and shoot someone in the head on the court and not get charged with a foul. The Prem's start is auspicious at best.

I wonder if Paddy Power will make a $50 bet as to whether or not a BIG NAME PLAYER from a BIG NAME TEAM gets booked for it this year? Because we all know they won't. Aguero can do his Greg Louganis impression all campaign long and not have to worry.

This rule has been running for several years in Scotland and there doesn’t appear to have been any negative impact on the refs but the players it seems have been impacted.

This rule wasn’t unilateraly introduced by the FA all the governing bodies such as the LMA, PFA had to agree Andalusia those bodies including the PL canvassed their members to gain consensus

For me there is a far bigger issue with penalties not being awarded as opposed to retrospective action being taken for simulation, but as I hate the thought of video refs I have to accept that the refs do get the vast majority of descions correct.
How will FA ensure that same rule will be enforced in every game? Who will make the decision that there has been deception?
