Not saying he didn't.
Other teams do it every week, they score offside goals every week too. They aren't effectively banned from having an attacking threat for two matches.

Yet we are chosen to test the FA's new rules. Any other team would have a reserve striker chomping at the bit to take advantage and bang some in (not the FA's fault, but they will be aware of it).

The FA have just nullified whatever slim chance we had of getting some points for two games. Hardly a fitting punishment for testing for a new law that only seems to apply to us.

Other teams.....other teams....boo hooo....its not fair, why always pick on us!!

Pathetic.

His diving gained an advantage and conned the ref....other way round and you will be crying about tha too.

Someone has to be the first, just so happens its us, its that simple.

This rule change has nothing to do with scoring offside goals or genuine mistakes being made by officials it’s about players cheating.

Everton are indeed the first PL club to have a player charged under this new rule but two players in the Championship have already been charged this season but to suggest Everton are being singled out or to even infer the fact that the club screwing up its recruitment of a striker should influence the FA decision making process is something you would expect from that other lot.

As I pointed out elsewhere this season in the PL only 12 clubs to date have been awarded penalties which number 23 in total .I haven’t the stats but I doubt half are contentious and then probably half are for hand ball so in reality I suspect the FA have only looked at a handful of those 23 with a view to the player conning the ref.

Let’s not play victims in this as many of said he went down easy and that alone fits the ctritera for a charge under the rule change

Question for those happy to accept this :

This new deterrent has allegedly been in force since the start of the season. Does anyone believe Niasse is the 1st this season to win a penalty by diving?

From what I can see, the law is totally flawed. So a player who does a blatant dive, spotted by the ref & either booked or waived to get up, gets away scot free, even if it was a much more blatant dive. Even if there wasn’t even contact!!! So what’s on trial here, the cheating or the competence of the officials? It’s laughable.

And what about players who get turned down for penalties for diving, later shown to be fouled? What then?

No question that diving needs to be stamped out, but they’ve not thought this through & they've clearly not implemented it consistently.

If the Ref saw it , it would have been a yellow card.
The Ref didn't see it so we are deprived of our only effective Striker for Two matches as punishment for the Ref's incompetence, on a rule has been selectively applied to us. There have been plenty of opportunities since the start of the season to punish players from other teams.

Ive already said all this its about successfully tricking the ref.

Whos fault is it that we only have 1 striker??

Your suggesting they let us off because of this???

The ref was conned....and palace were cheated.

I'm not saying that at all.

I'm saying if the ref saw it it would have been a card.
The Ref's incompetence means its a two match ban.

Will refs avoid booking strikers in future for diving because they know the FA can give them a much harsher punishment afterwards?

Only way to stop it is video ref. Decisions during play.

Straight red for diving.

But also, penalties must be given for fouls in the box, where the player stays on his feet!
No question that the diving has been exacerbated by ref’s failure to do this.

Also, do away with this “last man” bollox & get back to straight red for “professional fouls”. Example Blind on Barkley in the FAC semi. Total anti-football.

If this new rule sticks as it is now, it just plays into the hands of defenders barging/obstructing the attacking player.

Just seen the incident, anyone who says that isn’t a dive is absolutely bonkers.

However, this rule like all rules designed to “stamp cheating out of the game” requires consistency. No consistency has been shown this season with the decisions already being disputed above so Everton quite rightly can be aggrieved by this.

The ref has been conned by the cheating.....THATS the point.

Define “cheating” though.

Never a game goes by where we don’t see defenders at corners sneakily grabbing hold of an attacker’s shirt and what should be a penalty is not given, such is the “quality” of the deception.

Or how about an attacker claiming, and being awarded, a corner knowing he was the last man to touch the ball and a goal resulting from the set piece?

Are those players not guilty of cheating?

They sure are.

This tribunal will need revolving doors and an evening shift if it is to be true to its remit

Did Dann foul Niasse in the box?

Would the ref have given the foul had Niasse stayed on his feet?

I’m not condoning diving. I hate it. It needs stamping out. But as long as refs only give fouls if the player goes down, it will continue.

...and he’s not the first to do it this season, OR the most blatant, so the club are right to challenge that.
