It's all a bit of a 'review panel bares their teeth' sham. Everton of course is the ideal counterparty to be made example of: we're 'big' enough to demonstrate that the panel means business, but not big enough to present them problems re upsetting the Sky Six apple cart. Call me a tin foil hat wearer, but going forward, I suspect much worse, (i.e. more flagrant) simulations executed by the PL's media darling teams will be blithely ignored.

A 2 game ban is an unbelievable punishment and should have been reserved for blatant dives only. This will now just be used by the powerful clubs to ban who they want. Leicester playing United next with United needing a win for the title? Mates on the committee lined up to ‘keep an eye’ out for every time Vardy hits the deck. Dele Alli in danger of missing the cup final after he wins a pen under little to no contact? Fire up every Spurs man and his dog in the media claiming it wasn’t a dive. Every Arsenal leaning pundit will be doing the opposite. This will be carnage.

Of course it will. The conspiracy theorists are always called out as crazy but the really crazy ones are those that truly believe with this much money swilling around, with all of the betting tied to it, with all these commercial sponsors, that the game is completely fair for every club and refereeing is completely impartial.

Yes the othe
but banned?
Yes both got two game bans. Admittedly both were in the Championship but both were guilty under the rule change.
Let’s not forget there have only been 23 penalties in the PL this season to date and whilst I haven’t seen what they have been given for I suspect that around half would be for handball so around 12 would have been for fouls and then the vast majority would probably have been clear cut. The number of questionable penalties, for that’s all we are looking about probably Number less than 5

Hey I agree he should have been given a straight red but the op was talking about retrospective action being taken my point was there are no grounds under current laws for such action to be considered
The FA have used this as "groundbreaking & unprecedented" to ban Oumar.
So why not use the same for Kompany.Change the laws as they have done in this case.

As for retrospective did Steven Gerrard get a ban for his dive to win a pen in Istanbul ?
System stinks mate.
