He and DCL should never be on the pitch at the same time unless we are taking the game to the opposition. That whole "lob the ball up and hope it sticks" strategy didn't work at all as neither can stand on their own with no support.

Nobody could. You could put Messi up top and he wouldn't do a thing with how we set up/played.

I get the logic, a pacy bloke and a tall bloke to get onto a long ball but our passing was terrible. Unless Niasse and DCL are allowed to play the ball from the stands then I don't see what anybody would expect them to do.

What's more likely is that a bigger name will come in January and he'll remain a squad player.

Not sure with all the negativity about him as he single handedly got us out of the [Poor language removed] in many games and until recently had a better goals per min ratio than anyone else in the league.

Yes he’s not the most talented player but hard work > talent and boy does he work.

Agreed, the ban didn't help...his form might have suffered for it and unfortunately he didn't get the start today. Hopefully we will see him as an impact sub. I think he is quite good and just needs more playing time to prove himself. I really don't understand all the he is championship level quality at best comments. He is our team's 2nd leading scorer and #1 scorer till Rooney scored his hat trick.

Strikers like Naismith are judged on their ability to score goals. The strike rate from Niasse is far superior to Naismith's. Naismith managed to scored 18 goals in 103 games compared to Niasse's five goals in just 12 appearances.

In fact Niasse's strike rate is much closer to Lukaku than Naismith's.

Start the prince up front on Monday and keep DCL fresh for Chelsea at the weekend as we’ll need him to be on his game while we’re hoofing it up to him.
