2017/18 Oumar Niasse

Nobody did anything against the reds in the 1st half, so I'm not bothered about that whatsoever. He is a better striker than Dom atm, and whilst Dom has his qualities, Oumar will find the back of the net and make better runs. DO NOT START THEM BOTH TOGETHER AGAIN. He does much better as a lone striker.

His place in my Fantasy Football team is under threat.

Can’t see him getting much game time. Sam doesn’t seem to fancy him.
Sam's only been here a fortnight and Niasse was either banned or not in the European squad for the first few game.

He started him against Liverpool and he did nothing (hardly a damning indictment given how we were set up to defend), he was dropped for what had been a previous winning team against Newcastle.

I don't think Sam doesn't fancy him, he'd want anyone on the pitch who stands a chance of scoring, there's not been enough chances for him to get a fair crack of the whip yet

Mising this dude, worried we might of seen the best of him, Swansea could be a good chance to ease him back in, poor at Anfield so quite right to be left out at Newcastle, and right behind DCL now. We need to try and get some goal diff back against Swansea rather then shut it up with Jags coming on late if we are winning, I hope Niasse get another run out on Monday

Disagree with him being poor at Anfield Carlin, tactically I thought he shouldn't have played, he was played out of position and we didn't create one chance for him, we just were not set up to attack though thought he should have started against the Magpies where he would have ran them ragged.
I've just mentioned in another thread that i can't see BS playing two up front very often so I think his future starting appearances may be limited, still a great impact sub if we're needing a goal.

The problem was he was played out wide against the RS, and we just kept lobbing balls up to him, most off them ending up going over his head and out for throw-ins to the RS.

Too soon to write him off. I suspect he'll at least be an impact sub in tight games. He's a strong persistent lad and adept at pressuring mistakes or slotting scrappy goals. Not to mention some of his more aesthetic finishes.

I like this lad for the same reasons I liked big Straq.
However, I do hope we bin him soon. It would mean that we have brought in a striker who, rather than runs around a lot, scores loads and has genuine quality.
No slant on Niasse, top pro and a really honest player. We should aspire to better though.

Disagree about goal diff. We should be concetrating on 3 points and 3 points inly. Keep on doing that and g/d will look after itself

Agreed. The Derby should have been the perfect game for him. His willingness to chase anything & their fragile defence.

A combination of poor distribution & nerves on the day meant we couldn’t get up the field as much as expected.

I’d expect him to start against Swansea & maybe again against Chelsea.
