When one of his strenghts is "he wins freekicks" I think we can safely say he is a limited footballer, awkward and maybe a "bit of a handful" are not what top teams are looking for. If we could get most of the money back I would get shut no problem, else keep him as an impact sub.

Football is littered with very good players who had the ability to win lots of free kicks...Arteta for one, and Francis Lee for City. Many many more. Niasse has the same quality...he presses and pressurises, causing fouls and mistakes. Its an attribute that is very valuable in the modern game.
 

Has to be kept for another season at least. DCL needs to go out on loan to keep developing as he wont get the minutes as a CF for us as Tosun has that spot, and I can picture us bringing another striker in as well. DCL will end up stuck out wide and will hinder his development. Niasse will be 3rd choice as an impact sub and will do a job next season as we transition from being absolute dump to all right.

I would get him out to a upper championship team tbh, somewhere he is going to get shooting practise, no point loaning him to a team lower end prem as that would only improve the 2-3 areas hes actually OK anyway

Careful now. Round these parts saying DCL needs minutes elsewhere is the equivalent of saying he’s gash and you’ll be crucified for it.

Reckon your spot on with everything though.

I really rate DCL, but like with Davies, we have rushed both of them into the first team way too fast. We have put so much dependency on them doing well, more so Davies (how many matches has he already played and is only 19, it’s crazy) and both need a chance to play under the radar with less pressure as they can both be top players. Saying that, I have a bit of a man crush on davies and don’t want him to go on loan even though it would probably be good for him as I think he will be benched next year as we bring in another CM.

Agree that DCL should be top end championship, one of the teams that misses out in the playoffs.
